The Albany Fund for Education collects musical instruments to put in the hands of Albany’s students. All donated instruments are refurbished and restored to playing condition before given to a child. John Keal Music provides a generous discount to help with repair services, but the support of individual donors is also crucial to this effort. Even at the advanced high school level, more than 50% of Albany student musicians use a school instrument rather than renting or purchasing their own. The instruments donated to AFE and repaired by John Keal are essential to allowing these students to experience the joy and character building that instrumental music provides. 

​Since December 2014 more than 600 instruments have been put into the hands of aspiring students.  With Albany’s strong music program these instruments provide a wonderful benefit!  Already we’ve given a second life to basses, cellos, clarinets, cornets, drum sets, flutes, French horns, guitars, keyboards, recorders, saxophones, trombones, trumpets, violas, and violins! The Albany Fund for Education is a 501c3 not-for-profit organization, and all donations are tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law.
