The Albany Fund for Education has provided over $700,000 for programs that have made a positive difference in Albany’s public schools. Our mission to enhance opportunities for students to learn, grow, and succeed has been realized through programs such as:

Feed and Read and Summer Weekend Feeding Programs to ensure that students come to school ready to lear

Classroom Grants - Connecting teachers with resources and powering innovative partnerships between schools and community organizations, classroom grants send students on field trips, bring artists and writers into the classroom, and support project-based, hands-on, learning opportunities.

School Food Pantries - Three pantries in Albany's middle schools provide students and families with access to foods that meet their dietary and cultural needs

Instrument Donation Program - repairing and rehabilitating donated instruments for student musicians to use
Music Practice Clubs - provide students in under-resourced schools with a safe space and trusted teacher to practice their instruments afterschool and discover themselves as musicians.

Albany Goes Green environmental education programs

The Albany Fund for Education is also home to three memorial scholarships. The Dr. Alexander Aiello Paley ’04 and Brendan Fahy Bequette, ’14 memorial scholarships honor the memory of two Albany High School graduates who were taken from us far too young. The C.V. Raman Memorial Scholarship honors the memory of Mr. C.V. "Raju" Raman, brother of Albany School Board member, Sridar Chittur. $5/Month - Purchase produce and culturally specific foods to stock our school food pantries

$10/Month - Provide trees and flowers for students to plant

$20/Month - Repair donated instruments so that all students can enjoy playing an instrument

$25/Month - Help give a hungry student a backpack of food and a book to take home each Friday

$50/Month - Fund a classroom grant, providing teachers with needed resources

$1,000 - Fund a classroom grant, enriching curriculum and providing teachers with needed resources
